Check out Captain America: The Winter Soldier concept art by Josh Nizzi!

The sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger has broken a new record. It's currently the highest grossing U.S. movie of the year with a U.S. box office of $255,886,000. Worldwide Captain America: The Winter Soldier made $709.9 million and it's not hard to see why. I think it's the second best Marvel film of all-time. One of the artists that helped design the look of this blockbuster is Josh Nizzi.  Nizzi is a professional concept artist who's worked on blockbuster films like Thor: The Dark World (2013), The Wolverine (2013) and Transformers: Dark of the Moon  (2011). He shared some concept art of The Winter Soldier and Falcon that are amazing.

Official Captain America: The Winter Soldier Summary
After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever- widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. 1. Wow, Winter Soldier's look is now so iconic it's amazing to see him any other way. That cyclops one would have been wild. But its all awesome. Likewise, Falcon could have gone so many ways. I'm glad they went with feathered wings. Beautiful artwork.

  2. The Winter Soldier is by far one of the best films I've seen this year. My dad and my husband who both usually sit and grumble throughout the action scenes of movies because none of it looks real to them both came out of the film saying, "wow!" Of course, it doesn't help that they are both experts at mechanical and engineering types of things so they usually want to point out the problems with designs even in superhero movies. But again, with Winter Soldier, they were highly impressed with the way the comic book "science" was presented and they both loved the art/cgi work.
BTW - I loved Falcon's flight suit!!! So awesome! I wish I had one like that. :)

  3. I’m glad they didn’t try and reinterpret the wings too. It would have been disappointing to see Falcon in a jet pack.
